Some unique exhibits (belugas, whale shark, and shark tank), research, and the size of the exhibits is unique! Largest space for the animals I've ever seen in an aquarium. Impressive aquarium from the habitats to the work they are doing to improve marine health and habitat around the world. If you're into aquariums, this is a good one to visit. We spent 5 hours at the aquarium and after leaving, realized that we missed the penguin exhibit. We kept our cups and before leaving the aquarium, went back to the cafeteria and refilled them. Thought it was nice that we could get "free" refills. This can be purchased ahead of time online or with the phone app. There is a cafeteria and they do offer a meal deal that has some different options. Had they not been feeding at the time, we wouldn't have seen them (except from in the gallery.) We felt the tour was just okay, but we have friends who did the tour and really enjoyed it. Our timing was good as we saw white belugas at the surface of one large tank and in another they happened to be feeding the whale sharks and mantas at the surface. There are a limited number of these tickets. We purchased this at the same time we ordered tickets, but it can also be done with he phone app. We also did a Behind the Scenes Tour which costs a little extra. Both of these presentations have large seating areas and are worth seeing. These must be scheduled on the day that you are visiting and can be done online or using the GA phone app. Included in the ticket price are the sea lion and dolphin presentations.

Viewing through the largest display windows can be mesmerizing. The galleries with large tanks, such as the Ocean Voyager gallery, have multiple viewing areas with large windows to view from which allows the crowds to spread out. The galleries are large and easy for guests to walk through as they all make a loop. There are different galleries on 2 floors that go in different directions from a main atrium. The layout of the aquarium is pretty easy to understand. This is to spread out the number of guests entering the aquarium at any one time. Tickets can also be ordered using the Georgia Aquarium phone app which allows you to do a few other things (I'll mention later.) Tickets have a timed entry - the time you can pick when purchasing. We ordered tickets online about a month in advance of our visit. That was great.As advertised, this is one of the best aquariums in the U.S. Inside where the show is was quite humid and stuffy so I'd hate to go on a hot summer's day.ĭo I recommend it? Probably but to be honest better value for money was had at the Sealife Istanbul near Forum shopping mall when I took them there another time. Not one of them smiled nor welcomed people. The building itself is bland and staff were not friendly.

Getting there by bus from Eminonou was easy and the driver told us where to get off but if you sit on the right hand side of the bus at the front and you've studied the website you can't miss the building as you come to it. The photo quality was good and the kids love it as a memory. There was a break half way through the show, within that hour, where they stopped and you could take a photo with a dolphin but they didn't say it would cost 50 lira until you got down there. The rest of the show was seals and walruses. To be honest I think the name of this place needs changing as the dolphins were only on for about 10 minutes. I took 2 children with me 9 and 6 years old. Don’t care if they had to do some extra work. Not being the one to let things slide, I got a WhatsApp copy on my phone from their office. Why do I say that? One of the guys took a pic for the family behind us on their phone !!!! 😳😳😳. There were 5 men standing around and one of them could’ve easily taken a pic. They rather rudely refused to take a picture for us with our phone. They take the pics on their cams and give you a hard copy. The interaction happened when it was picture time with the dolphins, for which you pay an extra 300 liras mind you.
Is Indian and brown skinned people are a thorn to their side? I don’t know.

I mean they were nice to the locals and light skin colored people I thought. Oh my God, such an unfriendly bunch of I’ve ever seen one. But I’m giving this a low rating only because of the staff. The dolphins and walrus etc are cute and it’s good entertainment for the kids. It’s on the expensive side considering that the pool is small, the place not maintained well and show lasts about an hour or so.
